Our client is looking for a Database Administrator to assist with production support of its enterprise relational Database environment. This position requires extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server and Oracle database management technologies. Candidate will participate in a team environment providing production support, after hour's problem resolution, and strategic vision of our database environment; as well as interfacing closely with storage and server technology groups. These interactions will require good inter-personal and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Normal and customary DBA functions
Assist business application support community with database related application availability, performance, and optimization
Responsible for refreshing test environments
Assisting with troubleshooting of application upgrades and patches
Work with other infrastructure teams to integrate and optimize performance of our database environment
Ensure data integrity and access
Actively participate in efforts to streamline and automate DBA activities
Responsible for managing and troubleshooting MS SQL Server and Oracle version upgrades and patching
Assist with setting architectural direction for company Database environment; formulate and implement proof of concept environments to validate hardware and software enhancements
Conduct regularly scheduled project updates with business support groups
Ability to cross train and mentor other members of DBA team
Required Qualifications:
3
years of active MS SQL Server database administration
3
years of active Oracle database administration
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience handling DBA activities within Windows, Solaris, and Linux environment
Strong analytical and issue resolution skills
Performance tuning from DB Instance and SQL perspective
Willingness to follow Change Request processes
Additional
Qualifications:
Oil & Gas applications experience
Experience with NetApp storage solutions or other NFS protocols
Exposure with Hyper-V
ITIL certification
Scripting experience
Development experience in MS .NET (ASP and C#) or PowerShell
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science or equivalent work experienceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
