Position Description
Primary Purpose:
This position determines the performance of plant systems by acquiring and analyzing data thru the utilization of specialized test equipment.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
The applicant should be proficient in the operations of engine/compressor analysis equipment, vibration equipment, emission analysis equipment, boroscopes and balance equipment utilized in acquiring equipment data and have developed the skills of translating this data into specific performance issues from which corrective actions are identified. Plant systems include gas compression equipment, control systems, auxiliary support systems and ancillary equipment.
o Position provides corrective actions to resolve operational problems and in addition works directly with location personnel to resolve plant equipment issues.
o Position provides technical assistance in the operations and maintenance of plant equipment and provides training on equipment operations and maintenance policies and procedures.
o This position assists in equipment failure analysis and in the development of standard practices and procedures. Finally this position supports the identification/prioritization of capital and O&M improvement projects.
o Individual should possess a thorough understanding of the mechanical operations of engine/compressor equipment and their auxiliary systems.
o Regular and predictable attendance.
Position Requirements
Experience / Specific Knowledge:
Individual should possess a thorough understanding of the mechanical operations of engine/compressor equipment and their auxiliary systems. Applicant must have good analytical skills, computer skills, verbal skills and written skills and be able to work cohesively with operations personnel in the resolution of technical problems. This position requires previous work experience in utilizing specialized test equipment in providing corrective actions to address engine and compressor performance issues.
Certificates, Liscenses, Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers

o Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
o Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage crews at multiple locations and multiple tasks on a daily basis.
o Solid communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
o Demonstrated ability to lead towards operational excellence.
o Strong customer focus in dealing with engineering, field operations, and other internal and external groups.
o Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work with a minimum of supervision.
o Must be comfortable working with remote supervision.
o Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize and adhere to established work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
o Ability to perform the required and expected duties with little or no direct supervision.
o Preferable living within a 100 mile radius of the Birmingham area, but may consider other locations on a case by case basis.
o Must be able to speak and understand English
o Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to withstand extreme conditions; will work outside in all environmental conditions.
o Must be able to frequently: enter confined spaces; and climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways.
o Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist.
o Must be able to see, hear, walk and talk effectively.
o Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
Working Conditions:
Required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager, and be available to respond during working hours, and non-working hours as needed.
o Travel is required and anticipated to be up to 60%, will include out-of-town nights and weekend travel.
o The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
