Nestle Waters North America (NWNA) is currently seeking applicants for an open hourly
Microbiologist/Hygienist
assignments to be located in our
Kingfield, ME
facility.
Shift openings vary but are generally 12 hours in length and consist of a rotating schedule of 3 or 4 scheduled days/week. They may include weekends, nights and holidays. Day shifts run from 6am to 6pm and night shifts run from 6pm to 6am.

This role pays $19.40 per hour. Night shift roles are eligible for off-shift differential pay of $0.50 per hour after 2pm.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
oExecute microbiology and chemistry tests on raw materials, water sources, in-process samples, environmental samples, and finished products in accordance with Nestle requirements
oRecord microbiology and chemistry results, interpret data, and formulate action plans to establish corrective and preventive measures
oOperate, maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments as required by the ICP / calibration program
oProvide Food Safety training to employees including new hires and maintain training records.
oPerform quality testing as outlined in QMS and ensure regulatory requirements are met
oCollect, prepare, test, read, record and analyze all micro samples as required by NWNA
oCommunicate and interpret microbiology and chemistry results effectively to all levels of the organization
oGenerate SOPs and work instructions for function-specific quality control tasks
oTrain employees in function-specific quality control tasks, standards, and responsibilities
oConduct and facilitate quality audits, including but not limited to FDA,ISO, Nestec, FSMS
oDevelop and monitor the efficacy of the factory cleaning and sanitation program
oLead the factory HACCP program, including employee training, facilitating equipment and process audits, documenting audits and team meetings, and implementing action plans
oDevelop the sensory program, including employee training, sensory panels, and interpretation of results
oManage the Internal Control Plan (ICP) and the equipment calibration program
oMonitor factory GMPs and correct any substandard conditions
oMaintain the factory hygiene and zoning programs
oManage the factory pest control program
oOrder and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies
oEvaluate and trend consumer complaints to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures
oSupport the QA department and plant operations as necessary to maintain high standards of quality
oThe Microbiologist reports to the Quality Manager
Key qualifications include:
oDegree in Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biology required
oMinimum 2 years experience in a Food/QC Microbiology Laboratory environment.
oExperienced in standard analytical methods for microbiology, troubleshooting microbiological issues and experience with water related pathogens desired.
oPrior experience performing internal quality audits and maintaining micro programs in an audit ready state
oUnderstanding of microbiological testing and operation of related lab equipment
oAbility to track and trend micro data and testing results
oKnowledge of EPA and FDA regulations desired
oComputer proficiency in SAP and standard Microsoft Office Software
oStrong organizational skills and attention to detail
oAbility to stand, bend, stoop, and lift at least 50 lbs
oAbility to multi-task in a fast paced environment
oExcellent communication skills with the ability to coach other team members
Prerequisites:
oApplicants must be at least 18 years of age
oAble and willing to work 12 hour shifts including the potential for nights, weekends and holidays
oMust be able to successfully complete a post-offer pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
