PAE is currently seeking a Contracts Negotiator to support our Africa Programs in the Arlington, VA headquarters.
The Contracts Negotiator will:
Will be responsible for multiple task orders, contracts with varied contract types.
Provide advice and guidance to program personnel on routine contract and commercial acquisition issues.
Work with and supports program and senior functional management in proposal preparation and contract negotiations and administration.
Assist internal departments in resolution of contract issues.
Draft and review contractual language.
Negotiate difficult, complex, or sensitive contract issues with clients.
Oversee the evaluation of contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
Perform other duties and special projects as required.
A Bachelor's degree in business or other related field from an accredited college is required. A Master's degree is desired.
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in contracts administration and negotiation activites.
A solid understanding of contract terms, technology and/ or services, procurement and of best practices in contract administration is required.
Knowledge of industry business practices and understanding of the US Government's contracting process is required.
Strong communication skills - written, oral and presentation are required.
A high attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
Must be a self-starter and able to work in a team environment.
Experience with negotiations is desirable.
A basic understanding of FAR, DFARS, DoSAR; as well as standard commercial acquisition practices is required.
Knowledge of all contract types; fixed-price, cost, cost-reimbursable, time and material and incentive type contracts is desired.
Must be willing and able to travel and work onsite in remote and austere environments.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
