We perform both lab and field work, and offer pickup and delivery of equipment or any device that requires special handling. Job Description/Responsibilities Perform calibration and repair activities relating to portable measurement & test equipment in the field of metrology (the science of measurement). Evaluate test results in accordance with nationally accepted codes, specifications and regulations in compliance with the requirements in Lab Services Quality System, ISO/IEC 17025, and 10CFR Part 21 Appendix B. This activity may be in a laboratory environment or at customer locations. Applicants with less than 1 year experience working in a qualified metrology laboratory will be evaluated for a technician I position. Under limited supervision, all technicians plan and perform work to calibrate, troubleshoot, and/or repair a variety of Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE;), using knowledge of mechanical and physical properties, electronic theory and electronic M&TE.; These duties require judging the quality and operation of M&TE; and include recommending (a) procurement of calibration standards and ancillary equipment, (b) calibration periods, and (c) disposing of outdated equipment. The technician must communicate with vendors, customers, engineering staff and managerial personnel in resolving problems and incorporating modifications, and coordinates with and assists manufacturing areas in solving problems and fulfilling needs. These technicians will be required to perform lab administrative practices and studies, to assist in training lower-level technicians, and to perform miscellaneous duties as required. The technician must be able to identify routine problems, identify solutions, and act effectively to correct the problems encountered. The applicant will use Windows and Web based applications, statistical analysis tools and general mathematics on a daily basis. A good candidate would have excellent reasoning skills, able to perform proceduralized tasks using basic hand tools and measuring instruments. A working knowledge of electronic/electro-mechanical test systems and physics as it applies to measurement devices. They must be dependable, highly organized and able to work in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision. The successful applicant will need to remain flexible as overtime and moderate overnight travel may be required. A good driving record with a valid driving license is required. Requirements/Qualifications Degrees (Required): two-year associate degree in the requisite scientific or technical field (48 scientific or technical credit hours as measured on a semester basis). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
