Summary:
The Transportation Manager supervises and is responsible for the execution of Installation transportation services mission to include the functions but not limited to; transportation motor pool, personal property inbound/outbound and travel services. Individual is responsible for the coordination and completion of all tasks and deliverables. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of task areas. Ensures compliance with requisite manpower, safety, fiscal and accountability guidance.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer's key personnel involved in or directly relevant to a logistics activity.
Develop an understanding of customers' needs and take actions to ensure that such needs are met.
Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements, to minimize negative impacts.
Protect and control proprietary materials.
Review logistics performance with customers against targets, benchmarks and service agreements.
Develop and implement technical project management tools such as plans, schedules, and responsibility, and compliance matrices and report progress/results.
Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources.
Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
Investigate accidents and injuries, and prepare reports of findings.
Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
Implement and evaluate supply policies and procedures.
Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
Preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Working knowledge of the transportation DoD 4500.9-R, AIS Transportation Operational Personal Property Standard System TOPS, Fleet Management Information System (FMIS), and Transportation Coordinator Automated Command and Control Information Systems /Transportation Command Automated Informant ion system-2 (TCACCIS/TC-AIMS-2) in the performance of the installation transportation functions.
Must have a thorough knowledge of transportation DOT regulation, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge of the theory, principles and methods required to plan, track, and execute a transportation operation.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
Monitoring/Assessing performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Must able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Additional Position Information:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Program Management. Five (5) years' experience managing an installation DOL operation, or 10 years leadership or staff experience executing military logistical operations.
An equivalent combination of education and experience as identified above.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
