Job Summary
The Production Control Clerk compiles and records production data for industrial establishments to compare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production.
Principal Accountabilities
Compile and record production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques.
Calculates such factors as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates, using a computer, calculator, and/or spreadsheets.
Writing production reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats, maintaining files of documents used and prepared, compiling detailed production sheets or work tickets for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of products.
Prepares written work schedules based on established guidelines and priorities, compiles material inventory records and prepares requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies charts production using chart, graph, or pegboard based on statistics compiled for reference by production and management personnel.
Sorts and distributes work tickets or material and may compute wages from employee time cards and post wage data on records used for preparation of payroll.
Perform other duties as requested
Knowledge & Skills
Must be able to write read, and understand technical publications related to US Army Ground maintenance operations and reporting.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include word, power point, excel, outlook, and demonstrate ability to utilize Internet explorer to research parts availability, and other data needed to improve mission capable rates.
Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of US Army and Dept of Defense logistic systems desirable. Specialized vocational, technical, or other formal training may be substituted in part for experience requirements.
Must demonstrate skills in administrative and clerical duties to include preparation of production efficiency reports,
control memos, letters, and other communications; mathematical calculations pertaining to this classification.
Possess the ability to plan, schedule and integrate complex events.
Ability to communicate well with workers and management.
Occasional travel and continued education/training may be required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Experience & Education
Minimum 4 years experience relating to production control, data entry and clerical work.
SAMS-IE experience.
US Army logistical knowledge experience highly desirable.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for up to twelve (12) hours per day and sit for up to eight (8) hours per day.
Must be able to routinely climb/descend stairs.
Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach
above/below shoulders.
Must be physically capable of climbing vertical ladders.
May be required to lift up to 30 pounds to a height of four (4) feet and be required to lift up to10 pounds to a height of seven (7) feet.
Wear of hearing and eye protection required while performing some tasks.
The work conditions are normally those of a standard office environment where there is little physical discomfort.
During the performance of duties outside the office environment, the diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to changes in temperature and weather.
May be exposed to areas where high noise hazards prevail.
Travel
Occasional travel and continued education/training may be required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
