The Assistant Lead Worker is responsible for assisting in training team members, as well as replacing Process Lead Workers during vacations or absences. The Assistant lead Worker reports to the Retail supervisor and is responsible for the operation of a set of specific processes within the department. This position is designed to be a career path to higher supervisory positions within the company. Must be able to perform all positions within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Uses independent judgment to provide instruction and work direction to team members supervised. Trains and motivates team members to achieve their maximum quality and productivity performance levels.
2. learns all processing areas throughout the departments.
3. Assists in the completion and maintenance of department processing and training materials.
4. Demonstrates skills learned through Leadership Training Courses.
5. Directs and monitors the operations of assigned processes. Makes recommendations and works with others to plan and implement process improvements.
6. Promotes department and company goodwill through proactive team member communication. Supports and promotes company position on union free status by maintaining open communication and feedback to team members.
7. Supports the new hire training program.
8. Ensures company policies and procedures are followed.
9. Monitors equipment making minor adjustments or repairs to ensure quality standards.
10. Performs quality checks to monitor quality levels.
11. Required to know,understand and support food safety requirements for the facility.
12. recognizes safety hazards, performs safety audits, and assists with accident investigations.
13. Maintains records of department.
14. Completes all daily checklists.
15. Monitors performance of department team members.
16. Attends and participates in meetings on a regular basis.
17. Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPECTATIONS for ALL TEAM MEMBERS
1. Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
2. Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
3. Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement and rational thinking methodologies such as Six Sigma, and participates in or supports the E$P program.
4. Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices, and enforces safety work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
High school diploma or GED required. 2-year college degree preferred
Ability to work under minimal direct supervision
1 year of GNP experience preferred
Working knowledge of production operations
Ability to read and write English (for record keeping purposes)
Ability to follow both written and verbal direction
Ability to communicate effectively with others in a manner that maintains harmony with co-workers
Proficiency in Infinity, Microsoft Office and AS400 and/or sincerely willing to learn
Completes Lockout/Tagout training and is aware of requirements for Lockout/Tagout safety as well as other company safety programs and policies
Able to obtain GNP Pallet jack license within 30 days
Bilingual skills preferred
A certified Trainer of the new hire training program
