Production Supervisor
Ivyland, PA
You will facilitate the daily performance of several departments by coaching and supporting employees to ensure that company goals, objectives and initiatives are met. You will provide leadership in meeting continuous improvement objectives through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
How you will bring value to Donaldson:
Provide the leadership to meet and maintain employee focus on departmental schedules and objectives.
Maintain communication between other Supervisors and management.
Delegate duties to Process Operators, Operators, and Assistant Operators.
Effectively manage utilization of resources, including scheduling of overtime.
Maintain and enforce company policies and procedures, i.e., safety, quality, production, etc., through consultation and employee interaction.
Manage results that support the objectives of LEAN manufacturing through the application of Donaldson Production System (DPS) principles.
Assist employees in the resolution of manufacturing problems, i.e., equipment, paperwork, etc.
Plan production activities to assure products are run within specification and set time periods.
Train others in operating the machines as well as, paperwork (run sheets, set up sheets, NCR's, etc.). Train operators on procedures, methods, problem solving, quality, and safety requirements.
Recognize and resolve employee conflicts in a professional manner.
Manage departmental production schedule.
Perform data entry functions per daily, weekly and monthly requirements. Maintain accurate records of production within department.
Manage and submit weekly metrics. Use performance metrics to drive continual improvement.
Identify and resolve Production job variances.
Conduct performance evaluations.
Assist with candidate selection (internal/external) process.
Purchase supplies within established cost parameters.
Investigate accidents/injuries and complete reports.
Candidates most successful in these roles possess:
Associate's Degree in Business or a related field. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Excellent leadership skills in a manufacturing environment. 1 - 3 years preferred.
Proven ability to multi-task on a daily basis.
Well organized; adept at planning.
Can work effectively with limited supervision.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Computer literate: Oracle/MS Office.
Ability to comprehend and follow all specifications and procedures.
