Senior Java/J2EE Developer

Responsibilities of the position include:
- J2EE design experience (Object Oriented analysis and object oriented design (Senior level skills)
- Deep understanding of technical architectures
- Previous Cobol application development experience (nice to have)
- Middleware development/design experience (WPS and MQ)
- Previous experience wth user interface design
- Previous database experience (logical and physical models) DB2 preferred
- Strategic thinking for resource planning
- Initiative to understand work priority and drive project milestones
- Highly effective Communication skills to lead team and work efforts,provide mentoring and successful deliverables
- Apply past design and development experience to improve efficiency and reduce impacts on the application development
Job Level Specific Duties
o Works on multiple applications.
o Provides informal mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
o Develops innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis.
o Participates and may lead critical projects, customer engagements or business processes.
o Provides design and documentation at an application or function capability level.
o Participates in establishing and maintaining application standards and processes.
o Effectively communicates application and technical direction to the business and within the customer?s IT organization.
o Advises on issues of systems integration, compatibility, scalability and multiple platforms.
Typical Years of Experience
o Typically requires 4-6 years relevant experience.
Minimum Education and Certifications
o Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills
o Strong understanding of at least one programming language.
o Strong knowledge of coding, testing, and debugging applications.
o Strong knowledge of application configuration, maintenance and support.
o Applies a broad knowledge of application programming and design to analyze and isolate issues.
o Exceptional ability to effectively troubleshoot program errors.
o General understanding of how technology decisions relate to business needs.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions
o Ability to physically perform general office requirements.
o Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
o Significant travel including overnight domestic or international trips may be required.
