Master's degree in industrial engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science or related analytical discipline plus 5 years of experience in operations research, engineering, statistics, forecasting or quantitative business, OR bachelor's degree in one of the listed fields of study plus 7 years of experience in the fields listed, OR a Ph.D in the listed fields of study plus 3 years of experience in the fields listed. Special requirements are: 2 years utilizing programming skills, including, but not limited to Java, SQL and SAS; 2 years with relational database systems (Oracle, DB2 or Teradata); and 2 years of strong computer skills experience (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint), including capabilities with statistical software and reporting interfaces such as SAS and Minitab.
Responsible for formulating and applying sophisticated modeling and other optimizing methods using a computer to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation or other managerial functions.
Concentrate on collecting and analyzing data and developing decision support software.
Identify business opportunities or expand ideas obtained from management in order to conceptualize and define and model operational problems to assess feasibility and impact.
Identify performance improvement opportunities via data analysis and develop decision support tools to ensure most cost conscience, efficient use of company resources that supports service objectives.
Develop concepts into business plans utilizing appropriate research techniques, methodologies, and experience and present them to senior management with recommendations for implementation.
Lead the evaluation of alternative systems or transportation networks employing financial, computer, geographic or operational models as appropriate.
Research cutting edge technologies in support of the best practices in any transportation or network related question.
Individually, or as a project lead, design and develop models for testing, validation and evaluation of strategic proposals.
Prepare decision analysis and reports for presentation to senior management.
Utilize multi-media presentations and formal reports for presenting analyses to senior management.
Coordinate personnel involved in project administratively and technically.
Provide technical assistance and mentoring to other operations research professionals.
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations as well as company policies/procedures.
Perform other duties as required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
