Plant Controller
Plant Controller with a minimum of 5 years' experience in this level job role is needed on a full-timer, permanent, basis in the greater Atlanta area. Industry is manufacturing. The Plant Controller will direct multiple business operations within the company by providing computer, budgeting, financial analyses, reporting, purchasing and receiving to management in support of corporate objectives and practices. The Plant Controller will have direct reports.
JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Directs preparation of financial statements, forecasts
2. Provides interpretation and analysis of financial reports and analyses to local and division management to support decision making actions.
3. Manages and computes the accounting and financial activities for the plant and provides all necessary information to keep management informed of all pertinent accounting and financial activities
4. Responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions which involve fixed assets, payroll, material and cost accounting, and general accounting records.
5. The plant controller is responsible for developing standard costs for the plant and directing the cost accounting efforts to provide management with information that measures the manufacturing performance against standards
6. Provides financial and cost information to all levels of plant management and provides requested financial and cost information to the local and corporate departments
7. The controller maintains direct contact with every department in the plant.
8. The plant controller must be systems-oriented by demonstrating knowledge of data processing in order to develop and support new and more efficient methods to manage data utilized by the manufacturing plants
9. Will be responsible for reviewing all capital and major expenditure items to ensure they are approved in accordance with established procedures and are properly budgeted.
10. The plant controller will provide planning and instruction for multi-task projects and report on a timely basis all financial dispositions of IT projects, as well as the operational expenses of the IT department
11. Responsible to direct and plan all activities required continually maintaining an accurate cost accounting system inclusive of product costing and inventory control
12. Must work under deadlines in assembling, analyzing and providing financial information to management including monthly financial package, annual budgets and strategic plans, and monthly forecasting
13. The plant controller must be a leader and hold and participate in staff meetings that facilitate effective communications and foster the team concept
14. The plant controller is responsible management of plant accounting that includes: payroll, general ledger, cost accounting, fixed assets, purchasing, industrial engineering, material management, and receiving.
15. Develop adequate internal procedures and controls for the flow of information into the accounting department. Develop necessary accounting systems to provide efficient and timely financial and cost information to plant and company managemen
16. Maintain all proper records for legal, tax and audit purposes, and provide financial and cost data for plant and company management.
17. Manage the cost accounting efforts to provide management with timely information that enables cost control management, and measures manufacturing results, and drive new costing systems and reporting tools in order to support a better drive for optimal plant performance (cost and assets utilization).
18. Train, motivate, inform and develop personnel in accordance with plant policy to ensure the financial and IT department is properly staffed and the social environment is conducive to a spirit of cooperation and team building that enhances achievement of agreed upon operating objectives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a major in Accounting, or related field is required; a Master Degree in Business Administration or related field is desired
Minimum of five years' experience is required as a Plant Controller in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of the principles of cost accounting and reporting and information technology within a manufacturing environment is required
Supervisory experience in an accounting organization
Holding a certificate as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is desired, but not requiredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
