This requisition/job description reflects potential co-op/intern openings for the Summer 2015 Co-Op/Intern Session (May - August). This is a general job description and represents multiple openings in various departments. College students must apply to this requisition to indicate their interest.
Weld Engineering or Weld Engineering Technology co-op/intern opportunities typically exist in the following areas, projects may include:
Manufacturing
1. Welding various materials together via various welding processes (Resistance Spot welding as the primary) via structured test developed by Honda associates.
2. Destructive analysis of the welded samples (Cross sections and tensile tester use). This includes sample preparation for Macrograph analysis.
3. Data logging and analysis to create lab reports for explanation of results.
4. Material management for testing and general support of other processes in the weld lab, including testing consumables.
5. General support on various projects as needed.
Daily Tasks: Attend meetings, work on project activities, problem analysis, write technical reports, troubleshoot manufacturing or quality problems, and communicate to internal/external customers.

Term: Summer 2015 (May-August). Minimum of 10 weeks required.
Status: Sophomore or above
Degree: Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor degree program studying Weld Engineering, Weld Engineering Technology, or related field.
