Unix System Administrator I - Tier 2 OSS Team - Frisco, TX

Systems administration position involving management of multiple Unix servers in a highly dynamic environment. Work as part of a team in support of operational and project related activities. Provide technical and operational support to other departments and teams as required in support of business objectives.
Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:
Display strong inter-personal and communication skills.
Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members.
Provide troubleshooting for applications and systems.
Provide technical support for Unix related project activities.
Apply patches and upgrades to operating systems and layered software as required
1-2 years experience in an HP-UX and/or Sun Solaris Unix environment.
Competence with most UNIX commands/utilities.
Familiarity with most basic system administration processes.
Can add and remove user accounts and maintain system files (groups, hosts, aliases).
Understanding of job control, soft and hard links, distinctions between the kernel and the shell.
Some experience with shell scripting and programming (KSH, TCL/Tk, PERL, AWK).
A degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Preferred skills:
Operational experience on handling user account administration.
Experience with Nokia or Ericsson OSS is a plus.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
