Summary:
The Maintenance Manager directs and coordinates all maintenance actions and maintenance support requirements with internal and external agencies. Responsible for the oversight of all operational requirements within the maintenance Division, inclusive of vehicles, ground support equipment, weapons, radios, chemical defense and special purpose repair. Responsible for ensuring all maintenance performance standards achieved IAW regulatory guidance. Rack and resolve all maintenance related concerns and issues having importance to the Project Manager, respective commanders and principle staff.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Oversee all maintenance activities directly related to DOL maintenance division
Manage staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
Determine staffing requirements, and interview, hire and train new employees, or oversee those personnel processes.
Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
Investigate accidents and injuries, and prepare reports of findings.
Monitor operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
Preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
In-depth knowledge of AR750-1 Army Material Maintenance. DA PAM 750-8 The Army Maintenance Management System, applicable Technical Manuals, and FEDLOG.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective maintenance operations.
Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
Monitor/Assess performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
Additional Position Information:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or Program Management. Five (5) years' experience managing an installation DOL maintenance operation, or 10 years leadership or staff experience executing military logistical operations.
An equivalent combination of education and experience as identified above.
