Job Description:
Provide financial leadership to the Sam's Club Team to drive profitable growth for both Company and the customer. The specific work is diverse in scope and often requires analysis based on less than perfect information, as well as need for speed. Must be comfortable in dealing with ambiguity, and have the ability to supplement hard data with intuition and business judgment. Also must be able to turn insights into action, which may require significant selling skills and the ability to influence.
Work closely with the local Team to support business priorities while also positively influencing direction and decision-making.
Develop productive working relationships with SBU Finance resources to build influence as well as driving mutual understanding of key issues.
Lead analysis and recommendation of strategic business initiatives and customer promotional events.
Develop financial valuations of business initiatives to support business growth and/or drive process improvement. Key considerations include a deep understanding of key issues, challenges, and success measures for both parties. Must also ensure integrity of assumptions, identify gaps and solutions, and also recommend improvements as appropriate.
Lead the analysis of trade funds spending to drive a clear understanding of results and ensure maximum return on investment.
Act as the financial representative of Company to the customer, including the development of Sam's Club customer relationships as appropriate.
Build the business and financial understanding of the Sam's Club Team to ensure focus on balanced metrics, including profit.
Qualifications:
Years and Type of
Experience:
Five years of customer-facing CPG experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of financial analysis methods, as well as U.S. GAAP.
Demonstrated success:
In managing trade budgets and maximizing return on customer investments.
In turning analysis and recommendations into reality.
Strong MS Excel skills.
Communication, including the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise way, and knowing when and who to engage.
Teamwork and collaboration with all cross-functional team mates, regardless of level.
Ability to build relationships based on mutual trust and respect.
Ability to work autonomously, in an unstructured environment, and set a clear agenda.
Education Level/Degree:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred but not required).
