POSITION PURPOSE
The Demand Planner is a critical position that works closely with many functions (Business Planning, Sales, Category Marketing , Supply Planning, Commercialization, and Operations) to gather relevant data and insights to support the development of an accurate, unconstrained, shipment forecast.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Lead monthly Tactical Forecast Review (TFR) meetings:
a. Develop best practices to collect, manage, and interpret data from appropriate sources for promotions, new/discontinued items, displays/special packs, and market changes.
b. Create several monthly presentations which include graphical representation of this data for review with appropriate Sales teams.
Develop and manage the statistical forecast:
a. Use Excel to generate statistical forecasts.
b. Work with supervisor and IT to develop new forecasting tools.
Measure and track forecast accuracy and bias:
a. Clear understanding of basic forecast error and bias calculations.
b. Ability to not only communicate these results to the organization but more importantly interpret them for use in improving results.
Serve as the primary liaison between forecast development and Corporate Supply Planning:
a. Timely communication of significant forecast changes.
Work closely with Business Planning team:
a. Follow guidance for annual sales targets
b. Feed monthly forecast information for upload to mainframe.
Other special projects as defined by supervisor:
a. Occasionally other priorities will arise and this position requires flexibility.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Forecast accuracy and bias.
2. On time attainment of all monthly deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: BS (required) preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Forecasting methodology, forecasting algorithms, interpretation of IRI (and similar) data, demand planning software and Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2-4 years demand planning or forecasting experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to gather and interpret multiple data inputs, advanced use of Excel/Access and reporting tools (i.e. COGNOS, Business Objects, Stratum, etc.)

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
