Intermediate Security Patroller, Lock and Key Specialist - Year Round, Full Time, Vail Mountain
The primary purpose of this position is operating as a Security Patroller, secondarily as a lock and key specialist. The ideal candidate will show responsibility in all outside work (patrol, walking property, locking doors, reporting issues) and inside work (answering phones, monitoring cameras, operating computers). The person we seek will thrive in emergency situations, including fire, medical, and facility or personal security concerns. This person will also have a base knowledge of repairing and maintaining keyed and remote access entry systems. Most importantly, this person will provide excellent guest serivice, assisting guests, and employees throughout the Vail Mountain property.
Patroller Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Investigate and follow up with all injuries and law violations that occur on the mountain.
Enforce all fire and safety guildelines.
Enforce and control access or vehicle traffic on Vail Mountain as well as restricted areas.
Cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
Handle guest issues professionally.
Lock and Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Installation of any/all key entry related systems.
Perform maintenance on existing key entry systems.
Perform maintenance on existing access control systems.
Perform maintenance and troubleshoot all access points.
Ensure all Security access systems software is supported and up to date with current versions.
Work with consultants to determine best practice available for installation of locks and hardware.
Decide on the use of hardware for new and remodel projects including locks, closures and prox/card readers.
Work with Vail Mountain Security management for ordering necessary materials to perform tasks.

Qualifications:
Exhibit strong customer service skills _- required._
Must be self motivated _- required._
Knowledge of Vail Mountain and its operations. _- preferred._
Ability to lift100 lbs_ - required_
Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as kneel, stoop, crouch, reach and grab in order to perform tasks _- required._
Ability to perform the necessary tasks in an unsupervised environment _- required._
Must be able to prioritize daily/weekly tasks _- required._
Ability to use good common sense and decision making skills when facing mechanical failures of systems _- required._
High school graduate or equivalent _- required._
Must by willing to work in adverse weather while performing repair and/or maintenance duties _- required._
Competency using tools and equipment used in installation, repairing and renovating of established structures, including door hardware _- required._
Minimum of 1 year experience in key entry repair related field _- required._
Valid state issued drivers license _- required._
Must be proficient with computers, programming and Microsoft Office _- required._
Familiar of key and user input entry systems _- required._
Snowmobile experience _- preferred._
Intermediate skier/snowboarder _- required._
EMT or First Aid responder certification _- preferred._
