ESTIMATOR POSITION
Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized take off reports
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
Inquires suppliers for material and subcontract costs
Prepares and presents company's price proposal based on material and subcontract costs
Consults with client to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Interfaces with other individuals and departments within the company to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates
Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce any future discrepancies between estimating and actual costs
Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts
Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not safe and discusses the situation with supervisor.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or two-year degree with experience is required Ideal candidate will have experience estimating jobs for fabrication, including:
Specification comprehension
Blueprint reading
Term & Condition Review
Proposal writing
Fast- Paced work environment
Ability to work with a team or individually, depending on project assigned Candidate must have:
Strong math and computer skills (specifically excel and word)
The ability to read and understand proposal requests and technical specs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of piping, fitting, welding and materialsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
