Our client, located in Mishawaka, is looking for an Administrative Assistant with Litigation experience. This is going to be approximately a 4 week project.
Summary: Provide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, law clerks, and/or administrative personnel within the Firm. Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of attorneys' area of practice and familiarity with legal terminology and procedures.
Responsibilities:

Type, draft, revise, and finalize various legal documents, correspondence and miscellaneous documents of a confidential nature from handwritten material or transcribe from dictation equipment. Prepare same for mailing.
Maintain knowledge of preparing, filing, and editing documents in an electronic manner while maintaining understanding of electronic programs used
File and retrieve documents, correspondence
Prepare, compare, review edits & markups, and finalize billing statements as needed.
Open, organize, and maintain physical and electronic files. Prepare file and sub-file folders.
Provide various administrative support, such as scheduling meetings and appointments, maintaining attorney calendars, answering routine correspondence, etc.
Open, prioritize and distribute mail as needed.
Answer, screen, and direct calls from clients, courts and opposing counsel. Place calls to same when instructed.
Greet clients and coordinate refreshments and/or meals as needed.
Perform special projects or assignments as related to attorneys' practice.
Assist other staff and attorneys as work load permits.
Perform above duties on an overtime basis as requested.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
