Manufacturing Engineer

Excellent growth opportunity for a hands on Manufacturing Engineer with a machining background located approximately 30 minutes North of the Hartford, CT area. This position will be responsible to evaluate and improve current preventative maintenance, programming, repair, process capability, and overall productivity in all areas of manufacturing. Local candidates preferred although some relocation assistance may be considered for eligible candidates. This position is bonus eligible.
Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer
Work with issues that arise in the shop with machines (maintenance, design, tooling, programming, & repair)
Writing any programs needed to produce product on lathes and mills
Work with Maintenance to schedule any needed outside service for CNC machines
Taking care of any safety issues that arise and work with the Safety team to implement any action items
Work with Management team and Tooling Vendors to reduce controllable spending
Review with Maintenance all required PM activities for week to set schedule and see if any needed downtime is required
Other duties as required and needed
Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in related Engineering or Technology field (ME or Manufacturing preferred)
Approximately 5 to 10 years of manufacturing experience with a machining background
Demonstrated ability to fix, program, and repair issues with CNC Milling and Lathe machines
Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision
Demonstrated ability & willingness to learn with a 'can do spirit'
Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, FMEAs, and quality systems experience are all a plus
