Forecast Modeling Consultant

Provides technical and consulting support to Performance Measurement and Analytics (PM&A), MAPS and CMSBD analytic teams regarding forecasts of membership and account growth and related reporting necessary to inform and drive line of business performance.
Essential Functions:
- Works with Market Intelligence and Modeling Team Lead and other customers as appropriate. Acts as a subject matter expert in understanding forecast modeling needs (point in time and trend) and producing membership and account growth forecasts and any other analytics yet to be defined, in support of key business and strategic initiatives.
- Develops and manages forecasting models, including defining and documenting standards, policies, model definitions, etc., and designs, coordinates and produces annual regional operating budget, rate setting, strategic plan, MOB and Line of Business forecasts as well as quarterly re-forecasts and forecasting tracking.
- Evaluates new tools and technologies, reporting packages, and processes to support data modeling and delivery and ensures quality of data models.
- Evaluates on a regular basis, model to assess reasonableness of input data and assumptions and predictive accuracy of output, and applies learnings to improve model performance. Looks for opportunities to automate model processes to enhance model responsiveness.
- Provides direction to the Market/Modeling Analyst in the execution of the forecasting models.
- Maintains current information and knowledge of all applicable Kaiser policies, local, state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards. Reports appropriately observed fraud or abuse. In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors and principles defined by the Kaiser Permanente Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives. Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to purchasers, contracted providers and vendors.

Experience
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience in database management systemsand in the design, build, population and maintenance of sophisticated predictive models, including forecasting membership and account growth and assessing rate position.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance, marketing, health policy or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

- Solid understanding of the health care and managed care industries (including trends and legislative issues), business, sales and marketing techniques.

Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience in applying data and analytic methods in a managed care/health insurance business environment preferred.
- Master's degree preferred.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
