Through a combination of direct-to-consumer services and a state-of-the-art knowledge base, we help patients and their medical teams develop cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment strategies that are customized to the biological characteristics of each individual's Medical issue.

Summary:
We are looking to hire talented Senior Java Engineers to our team. The engineer will have the opportunity to work on a complex knowledge management solution for a growing start-up. You will be expected to solve complex business challenges, be part of the design and architecture of new enhancements and applications and be a mentor to more junior engineers.
Primary duties include:
Designing, developing, and maintaining the software components of a complex toolset for scientific staff.
Writing technical documentation relevant to new development and service packs.
Developing software that adheres to our software development standards as well as best practices in development.
Assisting in developing and executing test plans, unit tests, and test new and updated software programs to ensure specifications and quality standards are met.
Technical Skills:
Minimum of 8-10 years of software development experience and analysis in a web based environment. Should be comfortable designing and developing high-availability applications.
Experience working with with Java, HTML, XML, SQL, AJAX, Apache and other open source tools
Proficiency working in a Unix/Linux environment
Knowledge and experience working in a software development team with an agile/scrum framework.
Previous experience working in a bioinformatics or healthcare, regulated environment is preferred.
Experience with Isomorphic SmartClient or the Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is desirable but not required.
Ability to estimate level of effort for problem resolution.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Individual fosters professional growth and shows initiative, focuses on principles of continuous improvement.
Individual has a customer service orientation, exhibits professional behaviors, and contributes
to team development and performance in order to achieve team and organizational goals
Excellent, demonstrated written and oral communication.
Experience with Java programming language in a database environment is required.
The mindset and flexibility required of working in a fast-paced start up environment.
Experience working directly with customers on integration/implementation projects a plus.
Prior experience in a start-up or small company highly desirable
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required.
