The Integrated Systems Group has a key opportunity for a highly collaborative, technical professional as a Software Design Engineer in Aberdeen, MD.
JOB
Summary:
The selected individual will provide support in developing to critical software architecture problems for Leidos in the Army C4ISR domain.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Provides support to solve software architecture problems that impact the success of product lines (within PEOs, e.g., IEWS, C3T, etc.) and broad design issues for supporting migration, future products and emerging technologies.
Evaluates recommended solutions to problems related to software systems architecture and makes final recommendations to customers.
Provides expertise to determine systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters to meet business requirements and hardware/software compatibility.
Performs software analysis, design and tests software specific to align with customer requirements.
Provides guidance / expertise for concept designs, development, test, deployment, and sustainment.
Responsible for staying abreast of emerging technologies and making recommendations/improvements.
Ensures project schedules and performance requirements are met.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
She/he will have 5
years of experience in a systems engineering, systems development, and systems integration environment, applying broad technical expertise in multiple disciplines.
1-2 years of experience must be in a position that directly supports Army Mission Command or Army Intel systems.
Direct experience with Acculumo cloud architectures and technologies, including HDFS and Map/Reduce.
Minimum five years Java development experience, to include web applications and web services.
Direct experience developing widgets with Ozone Widget Framework
Working knowledge of javascript and javascript frameworks (jQuery, ExtJS, Dojo)
Extensive experience working on Linux platforms
Ability to work across multiple technical domains and support teams towards winning solutions.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge required for this field and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments.
Strong familiarity of C4ISR platforms and understanding of software integration.
Strong written and oral communications skills to be able to regularly interact with customers.
Security Requirements: Currently possess a secret clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance. SCI may be required.
Travel Requirements: 10% to meet customers within the CONUS locations.
Work Location: Opening in Aberdeen, MD.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
An advanced degree in a related technical field is desired. A broad familiarity with C4ISR systems and platform integration
Proven experience with enterprise software architectures.
Experience with distributed computing and Cloud architectures and/or implementations.
Familiarity with INSCOM Red Disk architecture or other large-scale cloud data processing platforms.
Familiarity with Field Artillery and Fire Support software systems such as AFATDS and JADOCS.
Familiarity with US Army CECOM, RDECOM, CERDEC, CIO-G6, ASA (ALT), G3/5/6, G8 and TRADOC.
Experience with virtualization.
Experience with cloud provisioning and automated configuration management tools.
Experience with software frameworks such as .net, spring, grails, google web toolkit.
Experience with agile development and developing open-source components.
Experience developing Graphic User Interfaces (GUI).
Familiarity with Information Assurance requirements and processes (DIACAP, CoN, etc).
