## Job Description
The primary role of this position is to sell business banking products and services within an assigned territory, collaborating with more senior bankers as needed. This position sources and develops prospects, acquires new customers and strengthens the relationships with existing customers by providing value-added business solutions in collaboration with senior Bankers. In addition, this position works closely with Business Bankers, Business Services Officers and branch sales staff to develop an ability to sell and cross-sell products and services to business customers independently.
Principal
Responsibilities:
Actively participates in the identification of business opportunities, development of existing customer base and initiation of new client relationships in collaboration with senior staff members and management.
Regularly contacts and calls on prospective customers at their place of business, who exhibit a strong potential to generate significant revenue for the organization to initiate new client relationships to meet production goals. Works in collaboration with more senior Bankers as needed.
Maintains and grows an existing portfolio of customers, monitors the portfolio on an on-going basis, identifies issues and trends and works directly with the client, all under the guidance of senior staff member and management as necessary.
Develops and maintains fundamental knowledge of Business Banking products including loans, deposit products, and business services in order to cross sell products and services to business customers. Utilizes knowledge of credit and lending in order to facilitate the loan process.
Works in conjunction with Business Services Officers to promote Merchant, Payroll and Workplace Banking initiatives and provides a pipeline of business. Collaborates with other business lines to fully expand customers' total banking relationships.
Participates in non-profit organizations and community events to establish and maintain the organization's presence in the community. Attends networking functions and events to leverage contacts for business results.
Educates branch sales staff on small business loan and deposit products, lending concepts and sales techniques. Participates in joint calling with branch sales staff to develop new small business relationships.
Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.
## Job Requirements
College degree or equivalent work experience.
2-5 years of relevant experience.

Ability to cultivate and foster relationships with diverse groups of prospective customers, referral sources and internal and external professional contacts.
Ability to be resourceful and comfortable utilizing internal and external contacts in the pursuit of new business.
Knowledge of financial products and services. Proficient with business products and services including cash management and business lending.
Ability to listen to customer needs and to inform, educate and influence customers to effectively sell appropriate products and services.
Strong customer service focus, written, verbal and presentation skills are needed to service existing and potential customers in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
Strong PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets and internal loan and deposit systems.
Knowledge of small business loan products, lending concepts and sales techniques.
