The City of Manassas, VA is looking for a Deputy Director of Public Works that will seek and apply for funding from various sources to be used for implementing capital projects; administer construction and implementation of capital improvement projects including right-of-way negotiations; and act as liaison to state/federal agencies on projects being undertaken in the City.
Develops and administers operating budgets for divisions managed. Represents the City at regional meetings and attends City Council meetings and presents information to the Council and City Manager; and attends meetings with other departments requiring input from Public Works Department.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; supplemented by seven (7) years of experience to
manage operations of the Engineering, Buildings and Grounds, Solid Waste, Streets, and Vehicle Maintenance divisions of the Public Works Department, ensuring that services provided are compliant with local, state and federal rules and regulations.
Manages Capital projects and represent the City on Regional Committees.
Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia driver's license. Professional Engineering license preferred but not required.
