The Financial Systems Analyst/Developer is responsible for supporting the operational aspects of the GFS FP&A; Center of Excellence (COE). This COE position will have primary responsibility for 1) performing the day-to-day activities of running the FP&A; applications 2) performing break-fix activities and 3) designing, building and deploying enhancements to the FP&A; applications.
The FP&A; applications include Cognos TM1 for Planning, Cognos BI for reporting and several components of the financial data warehouse. The FP&A; COE activities include monitoring the server performance, software upgrades, disaster recovery, change control and promotion of changes across environments (Dev/QA/prod.), application break-fixes, capability enhancement design, build and deployments, ongoing data loads, Help Desk support, SOX testing and documentation, audit support, security administration, end user training, testing for new designs and fixes (Quality Center, generating test scripts, Unit, SIT, UAT).
The Financial Systems Analyst/Developer will play a key role to in supporting the Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI applications to provide seamless capabilities across transactional systems, ERP's and the FP&A; solutions. Maintaining a pure Global Reference Model (GRM) for the FP&A; application is critical, and ensuring that local customization does not grow beyond a minimal level (estimated to be
He/she will be required to collaborate with any GFS COE's, Shared Service Centers and Back-to-Basics team (including J&J; Master Data), interact with key third parties in the FP&A;/Business Analytics space (i.e. IBM, BTI, Teradata), and stay abreast of the latest technologies, capabilities (cloud, mobile, dashboards,), best practices and trends, and ensuring that J&J;'s FP&A; capabilities move toward and become best in class.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is required. A minimum of 6 years of Financial or IT system development experience is required. Demonstrated expertise in building and running FP&A; applications to support a large, complex and/or global business is required. A strong technical understanding of financial processes and technology solutions is required. Development or system maintenance experience with Cognos TM1 Hyperion Essbase, BPC or similar OLAP system is required. Development experience with Cognos BI is preferred. Experience as part of a financial systems project team or Center of Excellence (COE) is preferred. Experience interacting with all levels of Financial and IT management is required. This position may be required to travel domestically and internationally 15% to 25% annually; travel will depend upon the specific aspects being performed (i.e. offshore activities or designing & deploying to another J&J; affiliate).
