Description :
Serves as the Software Engineer for PM-EO/IR Payloads.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Researches, designs, and assist in the development of software for hardware product development for PM-EO/IR Payloads applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of optical, electro-mechanical, and software systems and their application in an operational environment.
Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Consults with Government and Contractor hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall systems.
Reviews designed software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Involvement in business development includes briefing customers on PM-EO/IR Payloads software capabilities.
Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
Consults with PM-EO/IR Payloads stakeholders concerning maintenance of software system.
Reviews test plans and defines / develops software test benches and software libraries.
Integrates externally developed code into core libraries.
Contributes technical material to selected proposals and reports to substantiate and secure program funding.
Assists in the development and tracking of software metrics.
Acts as technical lead on software task for pre-proposal, proposal, and existing program efforts.
Identifies creative solutions to improve system and products.
Participates in the testing process for all PM-EO/IR Payloads Sensors through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment in software development and programmatic to plan and accomplish goals.
Required
Qualifications:
DAU Level 2 certification (or equivalent) in Engineering required. Level 3 desired. Performs other duties as assigned.
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related work experience.
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
