Under the direction of the Senior Manager - Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability, the candidate will provide technical leadership to the industrial hygiene programs including the establishment and maintenance of robust processes to identify, evaluate and control risk in the pharmaceutical research environment.
Responsibilities include: Devise methods for achieving compliance with regulatory and Johnson & Johnson requirements while meeting the business constraints of the location(s) being supported. Develop site-specific procedures and programs based on corporate/franchise guidance and standards. Manage projects requiring advanced knowledge of industrial hygiene practices from identification of potential risk to analysis of the level of risk to the implementation of appropriate control measures. Manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines. Investigate and perform root cause analysis. Conduct self-assessment through MAARS process; determine appropriate actions and implement per agreed upon timeline. Assure all records are properly maintained and reports are prepared/submitted in a timely manner. Deliver comprehensive industrial hygiene training materials to support compliance. Partner with associates at all levels including frequent interaction with middle and senior management at the business location and occasional interaction with regulatory authorities. Additional responsibilities may include support of site's general safety and health programs such as ergonomics, construction management, general occupational safety, and emergency response.
Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in EHS, Science, Engineering or other Technical Field required. A minimum of 7
years' experience working in industry required. Technical knowledge of industrial hygiene, biological safety, and occupational safety, ergonomic required. Environmental compliance program components is preferred. Certification as a CIH is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing plus basic presentation skills is required. Proficiency is required in Microsoft software, at a minimum Word, Excel, and Power Point. This position could require up to 10% travel both domestic and international. Previous experience in pharmaceutical research is preferred.
