Jacobs/TEIMS group is seeking an individual to fulfill an Electronics Maintenance Technician 1, located on-site at Hill AFB, UT. Position reports to the J-Tech Operations Manager who is based out of Nellis AFB, NV.
Position applies technical knowledge to provide mission support of the Utah Tactical Data Link System (UTDLS), Air Combat Training System (ACTS) and similar Airborne Instrumentation System (AIS). Supports UTDLS/ACTS live monitor operations to include debriefing of recorded missions. Assists in running the Range Training Officer (RTO) debriefing missions and scenario inputs used by participants. Assists in performing organizational preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment to include problem identification, repair and/or replacement of defective items, and system checkout.
Provide flexible airborne instrumentation support for flight training missions as scheduled
Assist in performance of operational support to include: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, constructing and testing of various types of electronic equipment and components following detailed instructions
Provide practical application of technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and skills to repair equipment to fully mission capable condition
Input pod ID and aircraft data into system databases
Learn and retain familiarity with various operating systems used to track and debrief missions for tenant units and guests at Hill AFB including, but not limited to, the P5 ACTS and the Utah Tactical Data Link System
Monitor and/or record live missions for RTO or future playback
Obtain, input and configure system information and parameters, required to track and debrief flight missions
Manage Communications Security Program and related equipment
Maintain work area/facility in accordance with local requirements
Train in and perform cross utilization tasks when necessary
Attend meetings and training as required

Knowledge, skills & abilities required:
Must be familiar with electronic support equipment and have the ability to follow guidelines using a checklist
Requires knowledge and understanding of how to use common electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
Must become familiar with and perform work on various test and training systems to include UTDLS, ACTS, and Advanced Range Data System (ARDS)
Employee must possess a fundamental knowledge of electronics and some computer skills
Must be able to work professionally and calmly in high stress flight line, in-shop, or debrief situations
Requires medium level mechanical skills and use of mechanical hand tools
Must be able to use associated system electronic test equipment
Must be familiar with techniques used in range scheduling between participant units and ACTS/UTDLS
Must be able to perform simple repetitive tasks requiring little or no previous training or experience
Must be able to apply basic principles and practices
Must be able to strictly adhere to established guidelines
Must be computer literate, able to learn operating systems easily, and capable of performing duties with with limited supervision
Must accept additional duties assigned and perform those duties in accordance with applicable instructions, standards and regulations
Trainings & Certifications:
Attends mandatory J-TECH, government, and corporate training and meetings as required
Master Task Listings (MTL) must be completed as listed in the MTL or as required
Flight line driver's license must be attained and refresher training completed annually
Educational Requirements:
AS Degree in Electronics or equivalent military/field training required as well as 2 years of similarly related work experience.
U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Must be physically fit to accomplish essential tasks and able to lift up to 70
pounds. Duties performed indoors and outdoors and may be in extreme temperatures. Climbing stairs and ladders. May require standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling and crouching. Grease, oil or fuel may be found on work surfaces.
Work involves an inside office environment/cubicle and potential outdoor repair work. (Considerations: Shelters are closed quarters, close together, limited lighting) Must be able to commute between buildings to support work requirements. Independent transportation necessary to support work requirements and to arrive at work site.
Personal computer (75%), scanner (5%), copy machine (5%), telephone (5%), laser printer (5%), fax machine (2%), and other office equipment including desk supplies.
During mission support (2 weeks per month):
Personal computer (50%)(to include online training and communication with MDS supervisor which will vary depending on the type of Exercise and training requirements at the NTC), telephone (20%)(also, communication with MDS supervisor which will vary depending on the type of Exercise and training requirements at the NTC), and other office equipment including desk supplies. Customer Support (15%) (To include: Technical (Phone) Support for the customer during utilization of site equipment during Live Fire Operations) Also, Tech Support for Customer in the DTOC during Live Missions, supporting equipment to include the P5 and Control and Computation Sub System during live missions and on the fly changes by the customer (15%)
During Maintenance - (2 Weeks per month/no missions)

supervisor which will vary depending on the type of Exercise and training
requirements at the NTC) telephone - No percentage available because the lead is usually on a cell phone or office phone while performing much of his/her other duties (i.e. providing guidance to subordinate technician at any of the other remote locations, providing information to the Supervisor or the Program Manager
With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential. Must be able to work within the shift hours required to support mission scheduling including weekends, holidays and night shift. Flexibility in work hours or extended hours may be required.

3) Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.
4. Travel to remote sites for maintenance is required. Travel by helicopter or vehicle down range in the field working on equipment in rough conditions (outside in the elements - Dust, Wind, Extreme Heat, Snow, Rain, Etc.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
