The candidate will take a team role to develop and scale-up cell therapy process processes. In this role, the candidate will develop processes, scale-up procedures, troubleshoot process scale-up issues and recommend procedures to improve the existing process. The candidate may conduct development studies to identify and determine ranges of critical process parameters: media preparation, preculture, bioreactor operation, cell concentration and washing and cell freezing. The candidate will work in a team to develop process for technical transfer and cGMP manufacturing. The candidate will provide support to develop reduced scale models for the process. The candidate will write technical reports and memos to summarize experiments and investigations. Other duties will be assigned, as necessary. Occasional weekend work is required.
Qualifications
A BS/MSc in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences or Biochemistry and approximately 2-5 years of relevant experience is required. Background in at least one of the following areas is required: Cell culture, bioengineering, biologics process engineer, analytical assays.
Must be highly organized and capable of managing/pursuing multiple projects with some supervision. Good written and verbal communication skills are required. The successful candidate must maintain written records of work in the form of notebooks, technical reports and protocols. Data reporting, ability to present findings to management with a handle on the bigger picture, and experience with team-based collaborations is a must.
