## Job Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Mechanical Field Supervisor
Manages: None
Other Requirements: Works a fluctuating schedule dependent on project requirements.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Work in the shop to repair, repack, recondition, or modify any size, type, or process valve in-line.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Disassembly of gates, globes, check valves
Visual internal inspection of block valves
Lapping of sealing surfaces
Be familiar with industry best repair practices
Be familiar with valve assembly, Hydro-testing methods and acceptance criteria
Ability to read and document measurements from various measuring instruments ( dial calipers, tape measure, micrometers, dial indicators)
Ability to read and understand data sheets and repair procedures
Have a Safety and Quality mindset and commitment
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
Ability to identify bolt sizes visually
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and carry 5o pounds
Ability to work on several time critical projects at the same time
Be available to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays with little or no notice
JOB STANDARDS
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree or technical school degree preferred;
Requires a minimum of One (1) year of experience conducting valve repair, repacking, reconditioning or modifications;
Requires completion of VRS Tech I course;
Must be competent with all measuring tools related to Valve Repair jobs;
Proven ability to gather data and prepare reports;
Proven ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations;
Proven ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel;
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
Smith Driving Certification or completion within 30 days of accepting job;
HAZWOPPER training certificate is preferred;
Approved State Safety Council Training Certificate is preferred;
Possession of a valid sate driver's license.-
KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of company products and services
High School Degree or equivalent.
Prefer College or Vocation Training with emphasis in a technical field.
Must be able to prove proficiency in the use of a minimum of two (2) or more VRS portable field machines.
Must have experience with two (2) or more different type of valves used in industrial applications.
Recent Military experience with mechanical, instrument, electrical or computer application training and experience or one (1) or more years' experience in industrial operations or maintenance.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
