## Job Description
The HR Assistant is responsible for providing daily clerical support for the Human Resources department and as directed by the Human Resources Generalist/Director. The Human Resources Assistant ensures efficient and effective delivery of personnel and customer-oriented services to employees.
_Essential Activities & Tasks_
Quality & Compliance Management
Prepares and employee personnel and confidential files.
Conducts employment verification for new employees.
Maintains/updates all Human Resources materials (manuals, forms, etc.).
Ensures compliance with location/corporate policies and practices.
Maintains confidentiality of all personnel information in accordance with established procedures.
Compensation Administration
Ensures accurate time, tax and wage entries.
Processes all payroll information, including payroll/human resources changes.
Processes all garnishments per state laws.
Follows up with managers and/or employees to resolve payroll related issues.
Generates statistical reports as necessary (turnover report, salary roster, etc.
Responds to and completes wage and employment verifications.
Operations Management & Administration
Assists with the administration of all company sponsored programs.
Responsible for coordinating employee activities and publishing the employee newsletter.
Maintains office and employee bulletin boards.
Maintains/distributes daily interoffice and interdepartmental communications (phone messages, mail, reports, etc.).
Provides clerical/administrative support to HR staff.
Works with Director to coordinate employee meetings and the communication of changes in policies, procedures and other pertinent information.
Conducts special projects as requested.
_Qualifications Required_
Education
Associates degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Experience
Two years office administration experience, preferably in a Human Resources office.
Must be knowledgeable of computers/programs (Word, Office, Excel).
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Must be insurable and meet OPRS' carrier underwriting standards.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
