Summary
NRECA is recruiting for an Executive Assistant in our dynamic Government Relations department to provide legal and administrative support to the Regulatory team.
Purpose and Mission
Provide high-level legal and administrative support to nine professional staff members, including producing/editing correspondence, reports, and other material relating to legal, technical and regulatory issues.
Arrange travel, hotel accommodations and automobile reservations, and process expense reports. Coordinate, plan and arrange task force and committee meetings hosted by Energy Policy professional staff at NRECA.
Coordinate the filing of comments at agencies, ensuring compliance with the official legal process and deadlines - on-time deliveries, required numbers of copies, where to be delivered, date/time-stamped and returned, immediate internal distribution, etc.
Organize and enter information required by professional staff for compilation of data into spreadsheets or other report forms in support of comments, testimony, special projects or publications.
Originate and respond to correspondence that is non-technical; furnish supporting materials for response to letters and inquires on technical, legal and regulatory matters.
Maintain files of technical, legal and regulatory information and correspondence.
Answer and screen phone calls. Answer or refer routine calls not needing legal or technical response. Provide information and respond to membership requests for information, regulations and legislation with and without supervision, particularly as they pertain to environmental, regulatory and legal matters.
Maintain publications and manuals with statutory updates, and update manuals related to supervisors' areas of concern: environmental publications and manuals, regulatory manuals, FERC Report updates, etc. Some of these are in book form, and others are on computer database.
Serve as department staff resource on computer-related matters - advanced word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and database management, Internet, e-mail and calendar management.
Responsible for certain routine tasks related to overall department administrative operations, as delegated by the Administrative Operations Supervisor. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing of check requests for expenses incurred by the department, weekly editing and production of department Calendar, and inventory and ordering of the department's office supplies.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelors or Technical Business school preferred.
3 years' experience as administrative assistant working for mid-to-upper level executives.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft suite - WORD, Outlook, Excel, and Access, as well as Internet proficiency.
Outstanding interpersonal & organization skills are a must

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
