Smartlink is looking to hire an IT Business Intelligence Developer in Annapolis, MD.

The IT Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for collecting various operational metrics and providing detailed analysis on trends, etc. to help us tell a story. The position will provide input and help shape new automated reports generated by systems such as SQL Scripting, Crystal, Crystal Server, QlikView, Biznet, etc. create and distribute new / ad hoc operational reporting deliverables as well as update existing recurring reporting deliverables based on the latest available metrics. This position will be required to generate professional, high quality presentations that are action oriented and in support of strategic business decision making processes. The IT Business Intelligence Developer delivers results to internal clients while ensuring quality and data integrity. This position consults with the business to ensure ongoing reporting and analysis deliverables consistently correlate with the latest business goals and drivers. Provides insight into the data reported and draws management attention to the critical indicators.

Primary
Responsibilities:

Analytics & Data Visualization: Proactively partners with managers and senior managers to provide more in-depth analytics on existing and new reporting deliverables. Converts reporting data to actionable information in professional, presentation-quality format to be used in strategic business decision making processes. Promotes and utilizes the latest data visualization tools and techniques to deliver results that drive the business forward.

Business Consulting: Proactively identifies opportunities to improve existing reporting and analysis deliverables. Demonstrates and influences forward thinking, consistently evaluates existing and new metrics to incorporate into reporting strategies.

Report Development & Data Mining: Develops new reports utilizing company tool set to extract data. Provides reporting and metrics support which includes generating, analyzing and distributing reports to making informed business decisions.

Assist with in depth analysis, identifies, recommends and develops significant, measurable process improvements or strategies to generate efficiencies, reduce operational risk, reduce operational costs, and increase levels of customer service through faster delivery and higher accuracy. Works with other business units to gather requirements, design and develop complex reports for use within the group and by cross-functional teams.
Job Requirements:

Strong reporting and financial analytical skills
Excellent PC skills (spreadsheets and databases)
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills and attention to detail
Able to work independently and in a team
Able to prioritize to complete assigned tasks timely
Takes initiative
Familiarity with reporting, analysis and planning,
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management


Education and
Experience:

BS degree in related field and two years of direct work experience.
Experienced SharePoint administrator with a strong emphasis on customization. Extensive experience with SharePoint Designer and InfoPath are a must, as is a moderate ability to create customized web parts using a mixture of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XSL (i.e. using a Data View Web Part). Should at least have an understanding of:
IIS/SharePoint troubleshooting (i.e. event and ULS logs)
How to customize branding
SharePoint Designer workflows
SharePoint web service interfaces.
Standard features (i.e. search/indexing, content management, and Shared Service Providers (SSPs)).
Enterprise features (i.e. Forms Server, Excel Calculation Services, and Business Data Catalog (BDC)).
Reporting and business intelligence (BI).
SharePoint feature packaging and deployment.
Web parts and web part connections.
SharePoint branding components.
Applicability and use of content types.
SharePoint-hosted workflows.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
