Summary of Responsibilities
The Principal Project Manager leads highly complex, highly impactful project initiatives for the Project Management Center of Excellence. The Principal Project Manager works closely with internal and external technology teams and business team peers to understand business goals and provide project management best practice solutions. The Principal Project Manager will also be responsible for defining strategy, approach and implementation of PM COE initiatives, as well as, planning and executing the communication, organizational readiness and training strategies for the PM COE. The Principal Project Manager may indirectly lead multiple dotted line resources in the completion of the PM COE initiatives across Asurion.
Essential Functions
Responsible for all project oversight, including planning, directing and managing resources for PM COE activities assigned.
Conduct assessments for stakeholder, process and organizational impact; evaluate results and present findings in a logical and easy-to-understand manner. Develop the appropriate change management approach based on findings.
Establish budgets and track cost of projects. Participate in budget variance process when required.
Proactively monitors project health.
Ensures appropriate engagement or leads hand-over processes as required.
Ensures department process documentation is maintained and updated.
Responsible for preparation and delivery of project status reports for assigned projects.
Defines and implements continuous project risk analysis, develops mitigation strategies.
Facilitates resolution of issues; escalates issues as appropriate.
Partners with business stakeholders to develop solutions that provide maximum business value and maintain technical integrity.
Builds relationships and drives change through an assertive and positive approach.
Influences best practices for project management teams.
Qualifications
BA in Business or BS required.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in managing projects in a complex cross functional environment through the entire project lifecycle.
Minimum of 4 - 5 years of experience working in a project management office environment with emphasis on Organizational Change Management (OCM) required.
Experience utilizing multiple software delivery methodologies as required; (i.e., Agile SCRUM and Waterfall (MSF), PRINCE 2)
Proficient with MS-Project, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-Power-Point, SharePoint, and Visio.
Experience managing projects using CA Clarity suite preferred.
PMP certification preferred.
