High Power Closed Circuit Product Group Engineer
Danfoss Power Solutions is seeking a motivated person to fill the role of Product Engineer on its High Power Closed Circuit Team HPCC in Ames, Iowa. The mission of HPCC Team is to provide value to our global customers both internally and externally by helping develop, understand, optimize, validate and support propel system products.
KEY
Responsibilities:
Accomplishes the engineering design, modification or adaptation of divisional products in one or more of the following ways:
a. Improves the manufacturability of existing products.
b. Solves functional or production problems related to the design of the product.
c . Reduces costs.
d. Determines causes and solutions for product failures on customer production lines.
Provides technical assistance to operations, manufacturing and suppliers.
Provides technical direction to drafting, manufacturing, and/or test labs.
Develops original or innovative approaches to engineering design, cost reduction and problem solving.
Stays up-to-date regarding his/her field of engineering and technology relative to Danfoss products.
Responds with commitment and sensitivity toward satisfying the needs of internal and external customers.
Promotes quality and continuous improvement philosophy.
Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions that are intended to have a positive effect on work performance.
Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time.
Has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance.
Applies creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resources.
Demonstrates flexibility in approach and ideas, responds positively and supports changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility and assignments.
Normal contacts include intra-departmental, inter-departmental, and customers.
Required Education:
BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering from 4-year accredited institution 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills or traits for the position:
Strong, demonstrated technical background and work experience
Excellent communicator with an interest in working across organizational lines
Possess strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Solid hands-on mechanical skills and experience a must
Desired Skills or traits for the position
Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
3 - 5 years of professional experience in developing, instrumenting, and testing to validate system performance; Experience in data acquisition systems.
