This position is located at Schofield Bowl, Hawaii's largest bowling center, which offers a truly one-of-a-kind adventure with 46 lanes. Hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Leads 3 or more employees consisting of a combination of NA-7 Bowling Equipment Repairers, NA-05 Bowling Equipment Workers, and NA-02 Custodial Workers who are assigned to the lane area of the facility. As a working leader performs regular nonsupervisory duties and is responsible to supervisor for assuring that the work assignments of the group led are carried out. Works alongside other employees and performs duties at the NA-07 level. Maintains, adjusts, and repairs a variety of bowling equipment having mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, components and assemblies. Typical equipment service includes automatic pin placing machines, automatic scorers, ball returns, telescore and telefoul units, ball drilling machines, pin finders, and lane maintenance machines. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions, and refers to manufacturer's diagrams and specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Uses test equipment such as continuity testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and feeler gages. Conducts operational checks, visually checking for worn or damaged parts. Traces wiring, disassembles equipment, makes adjustments, repairs or replaces defective parts, cleans, lubricates, and reassembles equipment. Follows preventative maintenance schedules and performs routine scheduled maintenance Determines which mechanical assemblies are malfunctioning and decides which parts and mechanisms can be reworked and which should be replaced with new parts. Makes repairs and adjustments such as re-timing cams and gears; measuring and regulating the sweep of rakes; replacing broken or worn pins, rods, brushes, bolts, belts, tension springs; filing contact points; and cleaning and lubricating parts. Repairs cracks, chips, and splinters in bowling pins and lanes using the appropriate materials and methods. Performs other duties as assigned
Candidate must:
1. Demonstrate work experience as a bowling equipment repairer.
2. Must have knowledge of bowling equipment assembly, repair, and use of measuring instruments.
3. Must have the ability to interpret instructions, specification and trouble shoot equipment.
4. Must have knowledge of basic electrical principals and the operating characteristics of electronic components. Ability to lead employees engaged in technical work related to this position and to do the work of the position under normal supervision.
5. Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs, work for extended periods of time in cramped and awkward positions and to push or pull larger assemblies weighing up to 100 pounds
