Role purpose :
- Assists Head Grower in supervision and scheduling of Range Growers tasks
- Helps plan and implement crop specific culture programs for all crops
- Works closely with Head Grower, Breeders and Range Growers to keep crop culture on track
- Assists with monitoring greenhouse environments and disease and insects
- Provides hands on training to greenhouse staff as directed by Head Grower
- Assist Head Grower with keeping proper chemical use records as required by federal and state law as well as by HSE
Accountabilities: :
- Ensure HSE safety standards are met and proper safety trainings are conducted
- Maintain proper training records for Growing Staff and Chemical Applicators
- Provide feedback to Head Grower on execution of culture and record keeping by Range Growers
- Ensure adequate inventories are maintained and assist Head Grower with procurement of quotes for supplies ordering
- Assure Sales and Marketing the proper crop schedules are being met for show plants
- Ensure proper crop culture is being carried out and maintain actual crop culture records
Knowledge, Skills &
Experience:

- B.S. in Horticulture, Agriculture or related field

- Basic computer skills, MS Office
- Basic Math skills

- Proper record keeping in regards to HSE, trainings, chemical applications, inventories
- Keeping crop schedules on track and formal communication with Breeders, Head Grower, Space Planner and Sales and Marketing when there are deviations
- Keeping Range Growers on track with crop culture, records and noted deviations communicated to Head Grower
KEY CHALLENGES :
- Must quickly become familiar with crops, crop culture, work environment and expectations of Head Grower
- Needs to understand expectations from various teams involved: Breeders, Pathology, Tissue Culture and Sales and Marketing
- Must quickly understand HSE and related expectations and reporting system

- Must be able to work on feet for long periods of time
- Comfortable to with open office environment

- Must be willing to work around and apply (spray and drench) chemicals (fungicides, pesticides, etc.)
