Project Description:
The Senior Packaging Process Engineer is responsible for technical leadership and expertise for packaging process operations. This includes identifying and implementing process and productivity improvements, owning the equipment qualification, assisting operations and maintenance trouble shooting processing problems.
Responsibilities:
The individual in this position is the primary process owner at the packaging unit operations level, integrating process and equipment knowledge.
Hands on technical lead in problem solving activities: root cause analysis, countermeasure development, and implementation.
Act as resource for development and implementation of procedures and training.
Provide engineering support for establishing the reliability maintenance program for packaging equipment and improving the reliability of systems and components.
Use predictive technologies and process data for proactive maintenance of equipment.
Facilitate discussion between operations, maintenance, automation, and engineering to drive improvements in productivity and reduction of deviations and variability.
Provide technical input and support for qualification activities.
Determine process capacities and bottlenecks, implement evolutionary improvements, and develop contingency plans for capacity/productivity increases.
Assess and implement improvements in productivity, waste generation, quality and cost of manufacture as part of process team.

Qualifications:
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with 5
years of relevant industry experience, highly desired.
Direct experience with the operation, maintenance, and improvement of automated pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment required.
The individual must possess strong organizational and communication skills, creative problem solving skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to function in a team environment as a leader and a team member.
PC literacy required. (Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Visio).
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred.
