Staff Accountant: $6.5B SEC Specialty Manufacturing Company--Oak Brook, IL (near western burbs), up to $68K
Staff level role - 3 years of exp. Will stretch on comp, up to 6% bonus
Looking for someone who has a strong general accounting background and good systems knowledge - preferably with SAP. This person will have the opportunity to work on projects related to freight reporting, analysis and reconciliation. Strong analytical abilities required. Will interact with our mfg plants, so there will be some travel required but I wouldn't say it's more than 20%.
Duties
Financial Reports - Assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure accurate revenue and expenditure data is available for the US/Canadian business as required.
Audit Activity - Prepare and provide financial information for internal/external audits and corporate accounting ensuring information is accurate and timely.
Account Reconciliations - Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.
Business Process Procedures - Ensure Business Process Procedures (BPP's) are written and current for all job functions and that they comply with internal control policies.
Journal Entries - Book journal entries as required and ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
Account Analysis - Perform account analysis and other projects as requested by manager.
System Changes - Identify, initiate and develop system changes with information technology and plant accounting to improve the availability of financial information, minimizing disruption during implementation and creating efficiencies.
Process Improvement - Conduct process reviews to identify improvements to enhance the quality of financial reporting. Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
3-5 years accounting experience in a corporate environment.
Willingness to travel, up to 20%
SAP experience a plus.
Experience with:
Freight - reporting, analyzing, reconciling
