This position will work with the Application Support Group, Product Managers and BAU team to support the operations of GIS Applications and Infrastructure. This includes GIS data librarian functions, such as cataloging incoming data feeds, updating databases with the new data, etc.; GIS Operations functions, such as software updates, client onboarding, troubleshooting, and off-hours support coverage.
Responsibilities:
Incident Management
Ensure that the production incidents are acknowledged and resolved within SLA
Act as liaisons between business and other IT departments and suppliers
Actively follow up on the committed service levels with clients - e.g. quarterly reports, manage planned outages etc.
Problem Analysis and Closure
Understand the underlying domain and provide first level technical analysis
Independently analyze issues/data and draw sound conclusions
Work with other stakeholders in root cause analysis and identifying an appropriate solution; ensure that solution is implemented - make changes as necessary.
GIS Application Administration
Perform routine monitoring and application maintenance
Maintenance of licenses of software packages
Work with development and BAU teams for developing and deploying various GIS components
Perform deployments as required to PreProd, Production and DR Environments.
Documentation
Document and maintain the inventory of map data feeds
Compose highly technical original-content knowledgebase articles and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) documents that address system user questions on a broader basis than on individual incoming calls. Follow templates that provide for formatting and content layout sequencing instructions.
Review documentation written by others that describes implementation and operating procedures.
Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about GIS applications, systems, and architecture.
Reporting
Periodic (typically annual) audit and reporting of GIS data feeds
Compile incident data, data used to monitor change management processes, and reporting data from systems and input into quarterly business event and utilization departmental reports.
Update and track documentation changes in electronic documentation repository.
Other Special Projects including but not limited to:
DR Testing
Go-Live Testing and Implementations
Write meeting minutes, business requirements, design narratives and systems and business procedures with due regard for clarity and level of detail.
Create technical diagrams and specifications to support system infrastructure designs
Interview systems development staff to gather information necessary to complete assigned tasks.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related field.
Experience
4 to 8 yrs in the following disciplines:
Supporting ESRI platform (or similar GIS software)
Maintaining map data
Using SQL queries in industry standard RDBMS platforms
Generally applicable change management procedures
Knowledge of ESRI (or similar GIS software)
Knowledge of FME (or similar spacial ETL tool)
Knowledge of spacial SQL - a huge plus
Operating knowledge of Windows Server, Linux or UNIX Operating Systems (all versions)
Operating knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Oracle DB, IBM Netezza (as required)
Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., MicroStrategy) - a huge plus
Knowledge of JavaScript as used by GIS software packages - a huge plus
Understanding of proper industry change management procedures required
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to understand technical issues

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
