Scope:As a member in the operations team you will be part of a team monitoring, 24 x 7 x 365, the 1100 servers (physical/virtual), storage arrays, backup, networking and telecommunications equipment in the Data Center and Computer Equipment Rooms (CER) throughout the two building and resolving and/or escalating issues as they occur. You will also be involved in daily and weekly reporting, server backups, monitoring and running batch jobs, transferring files, some after-hours user support, and occasionally installing and removing equipment.
Responsibilities
Monitor production applications, servers, and network using a combination of monitoring tools to ensure availability.
Respond to automated alerts from monitoring tools according to procedure. Use diagnostic tools to ascertain level and criticality of problem. Discover faults and conditions in a proactive manner. Diagnose cause where appropriate and resolve expeditiously
Escalate issues and problems according to documented procedures
Make accurate entries in shift logs of all events, issues, responses, and resolutions
Perform periodic health checks of systems and applications
Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner
Use judgment and knowledge of networking, systems, and applications to identify problems as they occur and decide on best course of action to resolve
Diagnose problems and resolve in an expeditious manner
Work with engineers to resolve production problems
Write detailed, accurate reports on production incidents and problems
Administer, configure, and execute ad hoc jobs using Control-M
Administer and monitor backups.
Pull and load tapes into tape library
Monitor Liebert's SiteScan system for any environmental alerts, i.e. AC, humidity, water, etc. alerts.
Must be able to rack servers and pull network cables under raised floor as required.
Must be able to work after hours, weekends, and/or rotational work as needed. Shift work, holidays and weekends are required.
Education
High school diploma or GED; plus 2 years general related experience or Bachelors Degree in a computer-related field.
Required Skills
Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Able to work with minimal supervision
Previous experience in Data Center Operations preferred
Experience provisioning servers (mounting, network and power wiring, installing operating systems and application software) is highly desirable
Knowledge of TCP/IP networks and troubleshooting tools preferred
Knowledge of UNIX operating system and associated tools preferred
Knowledge of Windows OS and networking preferred
MCSE, CCNA preferred
Microsoft Server preferred
Basic Unix skills preferred
VMware Vsphere preferred
Symantec NetBackup preferred
BMC Patrol/BPPM preferred
BMC Control-M Workload Automation preferred
IBM Rational (Clear Quest) preferred
Siebel ticketing software preferred
MS PowerPoint preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
