Job Description
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Aircraft Painter for a full time 2nd Shift position in Ft. Campbell, KY. Essential duties include:
Coats surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper
Smooths surface with sandpaper and steel wool
Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface
Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted
Paints insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils
Basic Qualifications
Applicant must possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience in industrial painting environment with an emphasis on spray operations
Applicant must have minimum experience with multi-component coating products
Applicant must be a self-starter and capable of retaining detailed direction and training related to daily task
Applicant must be very detailed oriented
Applicant must be able to adhere to strict written procedures as they relate to assigned task
Applicant should have marginal mechanical ability as he/she will be required to operate various industrial devices
Desired skills
Media / Sand Blasting experience is a plus
Experience with chemical stripping of Ferrous and alloy structures is a plus
Experience with Kevlar or fiberglass preparation and repair is a plus
