Our client is in need of an experienced Field Services Manager to support their operations in Emporia, VA.
In addition to effectively supervising the field services team, this position will perform and document pre-shift workplace examinations; Develop and execute the tailings deposition plans including inspecting and maintaining impoundments; Manage and maintain water without interruption to operations which includes permit governed process/storm water discharges, well field water system operation and river pump operation; Maintain the mining field and keep it set up for operations; Set weekly work plans for the field service team and ensure proper execution; Install and construct pre-mine infrastructure as needed including but not limited to: pipe work, power cable, field layouts, dewatering pumps, valves and booster pump locations; as well as ensure a culture of excellence with respect to EHS being maintained throughout the work force.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
5 or more years experience in the mining or heavy construction industry.
Certified DMME Mine Foreman.
Valid drivers license.
Advanced computer skills MS Office. SAP or ADP desired.
Ability to develop and manage good working relationships with internal departments (production, planning and development, logistics, accounting), contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and customers.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write routine reports, document investigatory interviews, and generate written correspondence in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to perform basic volume, pipe velocity, and time to empty or fill a reservoir calculations.
Ability to perform basic consumption rate calculations.
Ability to perform basic accounting functions for cost tracking.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve moderate system problems with multiple variables.
Ability to foresee and reasonable predict outcomes of actions in a multi-variant system.
