- The ideal candidate for this position in highly motivated toward goal building and maintaining tooling and fixtures.
- The position works closely with the engineering and process improvement departments.
- A vast knowledge of vertical milling centers and lathes is required for this position.
- The candidate must be able to analyze, compare, and interpret detailed prints and information, and be able to make sound and accurate judgments based on this information.
- The applicant must be able to read a print or drawing and make a part based on that print.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Proficiency with computers is helpful.

Responsibilities:
- Complete tool machining and assembly. Works with tool designer on suggested print modifications.
- Conduct first tool tryouts. Troubleshoots tool issues from assembly of the tool through pilot run.
- Provide technical input on tool design reviews.
- Collaborate with tool maintenance, machinists, and schedulers to develop new tools and tools according to scheduled due dates.
- Provide technical insight to engineering for operational development and improvement purposes.
- Assist tool maintenance with maintaining stamping dies.
- Support the tooling development and modification process. This may include design suggestions, development, and review of new tooling and fixtures, or improvements to existing tooling and fixtures.
- May be utilized to set up and run CNC equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years of machining experience minimum.
- Ability to read and follow prints, dimensions, and tolerances.
