Required Skills:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in computer science, engineering, physical sciences, or life sciences
At least 8 years of prior experience working in an analyst capacity on large and/or complex projects in the Pharmaceutical Industry
Familiarity with Biopharmaceutical Research & Development industry; in particular a working knowledge of early stage research and discovery
Required working knowledge of Genomics or Biologics research, either from formal experience or strong domain understanding and support
Experience in an analyst capacity on a large scale COTS project, a custom development project, and/or combination of both (impacting 100
Users across multiple domains) with clients/team members across dispersed geographic locations
Experience working within a team of Business Analysis
Experience with formal SDLC practices, emphasis on Analysis & Design stages
Proven ability in gathering, tracing, translating and managing complex requirements, business rules, and data
Proficient in GUI mockups & prototyping
Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical writing / documentation; organizes and presents ideas in a convincing and compelling manner
Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams; able to provide technical leadership
Outgoing personality; self-starter able to work interactively and independently with stakeholders
Possess strong business acumen; possess a broad, enterprise-wide view and understanding of strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
Experience with process modeling tools (Visio, etc.) to identify, capture, define, and analyze business processes; understanding of BPMN v2.0
Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Lean Thinking / Six Sigma educated a plus
CBAP/CCBA Certification a plus


Project Description: This Project is for Biologics Material Management project was initiated to centralize our biologics materials and information transfer capabilities within the R&D organization.
The project is impacting different aspects of the clients' overall biologic research capabilities. The core aspect of the project is the creation of a new enterprise biologics materials inventory management application which will be used by scientists to locate materials across the entire organization. Another component is the development of a request and ordering tool for scientists to obtain material for research studies. The third critical component is development of a new biologic material registration system for cataloguing R&D substances.
Under the direction of the Director, local Business Capability Manager (BCM), and Project Manager, the Business Analyst will act as a local resource leading the due diligence efforts in support of this project. The BA will work closely with the project, technical leads, and stakeholders from varying departments and locations in Research to fully define and deliver the new system. The Business Analyst will refine and expand existing high-level requirements, capture use cases and process flows, and provide input to UAT and change management of deployment.
Work with Informatics team and scientific groups to plan Business Analysis activities and refine project plan
Coordinate stakeholder assessments and management of stakeholders/sponsors
Collaborate with Informatics teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholder scientific groups to understand, gather, and validate formal business requirements
Generate cohesive documentation of:
Business processes / process maps (As Is - To Be)
Requirements documents (BRDs) & Use cases
GUI proposals and mockups / UI & usability designs
Functional and Technical specifications
Test plans & scripts
Identify instances where existing processes may be streamlined or improved
Manage and maintain all requirements materials and traceability matrices
Articulate and communication requirements to development teams
Assist with communication to business & stakeholder management activities
Assist informatics team and project sponsor in executing a communication and change management strategy in support of project execution and rollout
