MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER (MASTERS DEGREE)
Position
Summary:Responsible for providing psychosocial evaluations and treatment under the direction of a physician's plan of treatment to patients who are receiving home care services.
Qualifications:

Masters for Hospice program required from school of social work accredited by Council on Social Work Education effective for all new hires as of December 2, 2008.

Two years experience in a social Agency or community organization dealing with health and/or welfare.

Current Michigan Social Work License or actively pursuing same.

Current Michigan drivers license.

Access to reliable transportation.

Ability to obtain CPR Certification prior to making solo patient visits.

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Ability to speak, write, and understand the English language.

Ability to recognize needs and concerns of people and maintain constructive interpersonal relationships.

Ability to work independently, demonstrating problem solving and organizational skills.

Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and terminally ill people in the home setting.

Basic knowledge of community health, welfare, and social agencies.

Must adhere to National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics.

Ability to drive under hazardous road conditions.

Ability to work where employee may be exposed to communicable diseases in unpredictable home situations.

Must be able to use all personal protective equipment correctly.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
