Telecom Technician
Flexibility to work in shifts is a must for these positions.
3 available shifts:
(A-7am-3:30 pm ; B- 3pm-11:30pm; C 11pm-7:30 am). No time off/vacation except emergency.
These positions are temp-to-perm with intent is to convert to direct/permanent after 3 months (480 hours).
Summary: Coordinate and perform telecommunication moves, adds, and changes. The technical skills include knowledge of telecommunications systems and engineering technology.
Education/
Experience: Associate's degree in telecommunications or related field or equivalent training/educating required. 5-7 years experience required. Responsibility level: Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor.
Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage one's time. Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. Knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and Operating of telecommunications systems. Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology (Typically required).
Major Job Duties and
Responsibilities: Coordinate, review and perform all moves, add, and changes necessary. Coordinate, review and perform repair services in emergency situations. Coordinate assigned telecommunications activities within organization. Maintain records and prepare required reports relevant to the operations of telecommunications. Recommend improvements to enhance technical capabilities of the system and reduce operating costs. Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all company owned phone systems.
Candidate should possess the following qualifications if being submitted to the Data opening:
? Experience working in Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Calix, CBX500, Alcatel ASAM?s
? Detailed knowledge of Network protocols including Ethernet, ARP, CDP, Frame Relay, PPP, STP, VTP, ATM, MPLS, X.25, ICMP, EGP, IPv4, IPv6, IP Sec, IPX, BGP, OSPF, RIP, GDP, TCP, IP, UDP, SMB, DNS, DHCP, FTP, HTTP, IMAP, IRC, LDAP, NNTP, NTP, POP3, RADIUS, RTP, SSH, SIP, SMTP, SNMP, Telnet, TFTP (In order from Layer 1 to Layer 7) and video monitoring.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
