Gathers, creates and edits requirements for the Business Intelligence (BI) program on behalf of the BIS department, by partnering with the appropriate business/technical teams and customers for use in the Colorado region. Assists in developing best practices for KPCO and works in conjunction with other analysts on the Business Intelligence (BI) and KPIT teams to follow and implement these standards. Plays an advisory role with KPCO 'customers' to understand their business needs and how to translate these into technical solutions, which support the development of analytics and reporting. Works with resources on the BI and KPIT teams to develop reporting specifications based on customer requirements as related to the organizational needs, in the most effective manner possible. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities and applicable regulatory requirements, external laws and accreditation standards as they relate to BI. Appropriately reports observed fraud or abuse.
Essential Functions:
- Elicit requirements using interviews, group facilitation, prototyping, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis.
- Work closely with the technical development team and data stewards to clearly document source elements and ensure standardized values, formats, business rules/algorithms, meta data requirements, and data element relationships are understandable to the business customers and BI development group.
- Work with the technical development team to document the specifications for mapping and transformation rules all the way from source to target within our metadata repository.
- Reviews data models and mapping documents for consistency and traceability to requirements.
- Creates report specifications with BI development team.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with the ability to interact effectively with other groups in the organization.
- Communicates with different levels of management regarding information needs. Ability to discuss these solutions with both technical and business community.
- Develops/maintains appropriate documentation on projects within their responsibility, during the development lifecycle.
- Collaborates with development team on any issues involving BI architecture/structure of the data repositories, including development of new structures.
- Interacts proactively with analysts and other users to define requirements and assess impacts to new or existing data structures, and communicates this in appropriate formats or documents.
- Experience and advanced understanding of relational and data warehouse DBMS environment. - Star schema, snow-flaking, slowly changing dimensions, aggregate table design and navigation, operational data stores, data marts, etc.
- Proactively share existing technical knowledge and thought process with current staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience
- Minimum three (3) years in a technical business analyst or similar role working with data warehouse and/or business intelligence environments.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience with SQL or BI tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Hyperion, etc.
- Experience conducting sessions with business users to identify data sources, key facts and dimensions that support the business requirements.
- Experience and advanced understanding of relational and data warehouse DBMS environment. (Star schema, snow-flaking, slowly changing dimensions, aggregate table design and navigation, operational data stores, data marts, etc.).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, computer science, business, statistics, health services or a related area OR a minimum four (4) years of work experience in a directly related field.
- High school diploma or GED required.
License, Certification, Registration

Additional Requirements:
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with analysts, physicians, and business staff throughout the organization.
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing to document data requirements and translate into technical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to be productive with minimal supervision.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience with health care, insurance or similar type environments preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
